Bio

My name is Gunes, and I am the owner of fotogenic. I have been taking photos since elementary school, which is when I received my first Canon 35mm point and shoot film camera. After I won a photography contest in the eighth grade, my parents gave me an Olympus super-zoom camera, which I used for the next 20 years. I went digital with an Olympus point and shoot camera in 2005. After a trip to Italy and France in 2008, I realized that my equipment was holding me back, so I upgraded to an entry level Nikon DSLR camera. Using a DSLR unleashed my creativity. I since have bought a professional grade DSLR camera, numerous lenses, and a plethora of other equipment to fuel my desire to take the best quality photos.

When I am not shooting photos, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. I also enjoy traveling around the globe when the opportunity presents itself.
